Dermal Filler
How does the filler work?
The filler is injected under the skin, where it adds volume and has a raising effect that softens the appearance of lines and wrinkles.
The filler then remains in the skin, producing a lift and firmness to the treated area.
At the Harrogate Aesthetic Medical Practice, we favour the use of Hydrafill Soft-LineTM filler and Juvéderm® Ultra filler, used throughout the industry for unlocking frowns and furrows.

Will it hurt?
Treatments usually take around 30 minutes and during that time there may be some brief discomfort.
However, the needles are very fine and a local anaesthetic cream is administered to minimise any stinging.
How long do the effects last?
Typically, you can expect the effects to last for around 9 to 12 months though this varies from person to person.
As the filler is gradually broken down, so the lines and wrinkles will return to their previous appearance. Top-up injections can be given to restore that smooth, youthful glow.
After treatment, can I lead a normal day?
You will be able to drive and engage in all of your usual daily activities immediately after treatment. There may be slight redness and swelling at the sites of the injection.
It is advisable to avoid extremes of heat and vigorous exercise for a couple of days.
Home
Fillers are often used in the lower part of the face, for example, to soften the lines between the nose and corners of the mouth. Fillers can also give the mouth a more sensuous form, by enhancing the lips to produce greater volume and a fuller appearance.
When appropriate, this treatment can be used in the upper face, to smooth out frown lines and for further improving areas which have been treated by wrinkle relaxing injections.
